It’s that time of the year when little outside jobs on equipment etc needs to be done. Working on the boat while waiting for an opening in the weather for a flat sea and suddenly there was what I thought to be a reasonable earthquake. Turns out Blake the 8 year old chocolate Labrador had spotted a bird nest down the drawbars box section and was determined to get it if he had to dismantle the boat and trailer to do so. A quick snarl at him from me to try and get him to stop and yep he’s turned of his hearing and keeps trying to get at the nest of fledglings. Without thinking I assume what could he do to a solid steel tandom axle boat trailer and left him to entertain himself. A few minutes later Jude turns up to help me try and get the faulty solar panel of the roof of the boat of which I was currently working away at. “Nek minit” I hear Jude go “Oh No… my god what the fuck have you done Blakey” as she holds up what’s had common likeness to the trailer light cable plug and all the associated wiring which had multiple breaks and puncture holes that Blakey had ripped right out of the drawbar box section… it wasn’t just a matter of connecting a few wires… half the damn loom needs replaced. What were my words…. “What damage could he do to a solid tandem axle boat trailer”…. Lots!
