5th June we headed to Kaikoura stopping for brunch along the coastline to watch a 5-6m swell crashing into the coastline, the photo doesn’t do the reality any credit.

Once arriving at Kaikoura NZMCA we mount up and did a ride to Point Kean a round trip of 19km. Started off a cool afternoon however as soon as that sun dropped down it got really cold, I was fortunate to have full gloves on but my ears stung a little from the cold. Jude was lucky to have long enough hair to cover her ears but she felt the sting in her hands. A hot rice risotto went down well for the evening meal.

6th June Jude wanted to drive into the village for a walk somewhere, I wasn’t too keen but then Jude bribed me by utilising food and a beer at the The Pier Hotel as the reward destination…. it was a cold day which didn’t stop Jude wanting to outside. A bit of humour, when Jude went into the hotel for a moment a gentleman and his wife came out and seen me sitting outside in the cold, he asked why am I not inside the bar keeping warm, I told him I identified as a underage youth which drew a laugh from them both.
It was fish and chip night and we chose the Northend Takeaways… big mistake as two very small pieces of blue cod, 12 mussels and a scoop of chips cost $64.00, won’t go back there.
