Nice lazy morning, just chilling out before going to the Te Anau Rodeo… well that was the original plan until we couldn’t be bothered. Decided to have brunch at home (which has been the Te Anau NZMCA Park for the past two nights) before going for a walk to catch up with friends of our Stu and Teri. Unfortunately Stu was at work but enjoyed the afternoon chatting with Teri. A cup of tea , piece of carrot cake and a chocolate brownie later and it was time to head home. Started walking and the skies to the south were dark and ominous looking… the walking pace quicken as we were now trying to beat the rain that we could see was belting down approximately two kilometres away. A close call as we were opening the door to Aotearoamer the down pour dropped. Time to chill again until it was time for dinner and to watch the 20/20 Cricket match between New Zealand and Shri Lanka. Look forward to New Year’s Eve and a BBQ at Ken’s… who the fuck is Ken?.. just a lovely man we met at the NZMCA Park… real hard case elderly gentleman we got to know. Now Ken actually lives in Te Anau but enjoys getting around in his caravan, getting to meet new people and sharing all his covert adventures… that’s another long story in itself for another day.
