Late post but better late than never aye!
Wow! The Australian National Rugby League Magic Round… What a tournament to go to. The trip had been planned four months ago and it’s amazing how time flys.
Jude and I were really please to be included in the group that her son Tom and daughter in-law affectionately called Kimbo by us. Others joining us were Dave, Jude’s oldest son and wife Ruth, Dave Lyndsay and partner Nik, dear friends of Tom’s Jake and partner and Adam whom all reside in Aussie.

Wednesday afternoon we all headed to Frankton for the night as had an early rise at 0400hrs Thursday morning to catch the international flight to Sydney, then a domestic flight to Brisbane and finally a Taxi to Norman Park where our AirBnB was located.
Our accommodation was a fantastic double story place with an amazing theatre to watch your favourite sports or movies. Four twin bedrooms catered for all. With the games scheduled for the weekend so we were in for a treat.

The first task for Thursday was a couple of thirst quenchers and watch the Women’s State Of Origin in the theatre, what a game and of course I was wrapped when the Blues kicked the Maroons butt.
Friday morning and it was a 700m walk to the Logan Park train station and the best thing was it was only 50c to go anywhere on the trains and buses, so we all went into the city for Warriors playing jersey and of course a couple of our team were supporting other teams as well and required extra jerseys, Jude Panthers, Dave Edge Cowboys and Broncos… but hey no one’s perfect👍🏽

A highlight for me was catching up with dear friends Hoeta and Riki Simeon and a huge thanks to the Riksta for getting a Warriors playing jersey for me and a Panthers Jersey for Jude. Even though it bucketed down with rain we had a great time at Suncorp together over a couple of beers (and Coke, Hoeta lol) under the brollie.

The NRL Magic Round was a fantastic fun weekend of Rugby League and the most amazing thing about was, it didn’t matter who was supporting who, as pissed as anyone got there was no aggro and a sense of pride when it didn’t matter what team people supported, when they seen a Warriors jersey they yelled “Up The WAHs”. A fantastic tournament, a fantastic atmosphere and highly recommend the experience.
