Typical winters day as the rain fell from above for a wet and wild football game at Turnbull Thompson Astro Turf got under way. Queens Park AFC took on Old Boys in a return clash that Queens Park won comfortably. Old Boys looked good as they started aggressively and put pressure on QP’s defence tactics. Occasionally in the first half QP managed to get down the right end of the field and potted a few goals and nearing half time had manage to gain advantage and controlled the game even though the wind had ramped up in favour of Old Boys but QP finishing the first half 4-0 up and looking forward to having the wind also in their favour for the second half.

The second half starts of, Russell gets on for a run in this half… although the rain was still pouring down the wind had dissipated to nothing. Again both teams started off with a solid attack and defence, hammering away at each other until QP scored another goal putting more pressure on Old Boys to score and stay in the game, unfortunately under immense pressure it only force them to make too many mistakes which Queens park capitalised on.

Russell had some good touches and challenges through the half, as well as the QP goalie stopping some pretty awesome goal attempts from Old Boys. The end result was a good indication of the attack and defence of QP coming out as deserved winners 8-0.
