Former President Greenpeace Scientifically Rips Climate Change to Shreds TN Note: The following is a lecture delivered by Patrick Moore, formerly President of Greenpeace Int’l, to the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in London. Should We Celebrate Carbon Dioxide? My Lords and Ladies, Ladies and Gentlemen. Thank you for the opportunity to set out my views on climate change. As I have stated publicly on many occasions, there is no definitive scientific proof, through real-world observation,Read More →

As per usual I love perusing our map book looking for roads tracks we haven’t been on. We leave Murchison in Jimny heading up the Mangles Valley road that follows the Mangles River, a lovely river with many deep pools that looked very inviting. We head up the Braeburn track classed as 4WD but was pretty easy to drive with 4 small creek crossings along the way, we then drop down to Lake Rotoroa a long narrow lake completely surrounded by native beech forest, a lovely camping area and quite a few holiday cribs, popular for families and I bet the fishing is great too.Read More →

[Sunday 7th Oct.] The day was perfect, clear sunny sky, no wind, views sublime, what better to do than attack a section of Alps 2 Ocean bike trail. As we were parked up at Lake Ohau just below Ohau Lodge, lets do the uphill to highest point…. geared up and off we go on a well formed track along the Ohau Range gradually climbing not too strenuous a gentle breeze kept us cool, crossing streams tumbling down from the range passing through small remnants of beech forest ever increasing our altitude.
