Monday and we’re still at the Kaiapoi NZMCA. Yesterday was a ride out to Kairaki Beach and then along the Pegasus Trail up to Woodend Reserve, 23km ride, a nice and easy flat track ride. Today being the first day of a new week was a good weather day, light cool easterly breeze but sunny’ish. So it was a bike ride from the top of Mt Pleasant Road along the top of the Port Hills to Dyers Pass Road to lunch at the Flight Of The Kiwi Restaurant. Jude and I both love this ride as it has long climbs and long down hill speed runs. If you come up to Christchurch and do have a bike we highly recommend this ride. It is only a 20km round trip so don’t eat too much at the Flight Of The Kiwi and if you don’t ride it’s just a fantastic walk around with amazing views.
