This is a very late post on the upgrade of the house batteries. Previously we had 2x 135Ah Lithium Ion batteries and they were doing the job nicely. Having a bit of spare coin we decided to upgrade to 2x 200Ah lithium ion batteries. Why? because it doesnt hurt to have a bigger tank of amps available in the winter season… especially with the longer cooler days without adequate sun as the days are shorter and the angle lower the solar panels on the roof dont work as well. Now and thern when it is a good day we put the fold portable solar panels out and pointing directly at the sun they manage to pull in ample amps. If we ever get desperate we can run the engine and use the DC-DC chargers to put 50 amps/hr back into the batteries.
