[Feature Photo- Top Row: Hani, Kasharnae, Adam, Dae-Maree, Arlie Bottom: Te wi, Te Aowera] Wednesday was a special evening as my Tamariki Adam, Dae-Maree and Kasharnae got together for an evening meal (well fish’n’chips anyway lol). It was special because they arranged it amongst themselves, the downside was Jude and I were in the top of the South Island at Port Tarakohe, Pohara and therefore could not be there for this special occasion, but that’s how timing is sometimes. It was so cool that Adams mum and dad Brian and Isabel (long story 😁) also visited Dae-Maree and Danial’s to meet them and most ofRead More →

Tonight Arlie’s netball team SGHS took on Hargest High in what was a tough game for the girls. Arlie started as goal shoot in the first quarter and unfortunately didn’t get too many opportunities as Hargest was attacking well giving the Girls High defense a pretty tough time. In all credit to Hargest their ball skills were more on target tonight while Southland Girls High struggled with their passing accuracy. Arlie sat out the 2nd quarter and returned as goal attack in the 3rd and 4th quarters. The Southland Girls picked up their game putting in a good challenge in the last two quarters, attackingRead More →

Netball: A huge thanks to coach Lenore Morris for the report on the weekends game where Otautau Buckaroos took on Limehills. Buckaroos 11 – 17 LimehillsWell the girls certainly had a tougher game yesterday that really put them to the test!It probably took 3 qtrs before we started to play as a team and really fire.We had good moments throughout the game. The guys on defence did a really good job, they were a tough opposition and well drilled. Hurley got around 6 Intercepts, that was awesome! And lots of tips all ds! Our shooting was a little wobbly earlier on and we failed toRead More →

Yesterday was Judes birthday and it turned out to be the warmest day of autumn. Six weeks ago I started to look at what I should get her for her birthday and as Jude is one who says “I don’t require birthday gifts”, it was going to be hard finding something. By chance Tom had purchased a Tatonka Backpack and Jude was so impressed with it, as Jude’s hip replacement had gone so well and she has become so active enjoying long walks between 6 -10 km and as she also had been planning to Tramp into Green Lake, I found the perfect gift, aRead More →

Jude and I had a fantastic day today as we took my sister Una and husband Steve from Canberra Australia for a ride up to the Borland Saddle. Leaving from the farm at Otautau we headed to Brunel Peaks Cafe on the corner of Blackmount Redcliff Road and Lake Monowai Road for lunch, a beautiful cafe in a beautiful setting. The staff were absolutely wonderful and very welcoming, just had that personal touch. As for the food, a good selection, generous portions and everyone enjoyed every mouthful… well I did anyway, just a treat. After topping off a wonderful meal we enjoyed a cup ofRead More →

Had lunch with my youngest brother Trev today,.. I say younger because he certainly ain’t the smallest. Trev was down from Fielding for a visit. We went to the BATCH which is my favourite cafe in Invercargill for lunch where we enjoyed seafood chowder (best in town) and yarned about the old days and those to come. Look forward to catching up with my older sister Una (aka Noons) who is in New Zealand for a couple of weeks. Hopefully we can get the Kiwi kiwi’s all together for an evening meal next week.Read More →
