Well it may not have been a brilliant summer weather wise, but we certainly cannot complain about the autumn. This morning is Rugby Day kids nationwide are being driven by to their rugby ground destinations. The rural kids especially have to drive many kilometers to play against their opposition and Billy and his Otautau team mates are in that category. As Jude and Kimberley were in Dunedin last night at a concert, it was my job to get up early and make the 55 kilometer trip to Sandy Point, Invercargill’s main Gathering point for multiple club and school rugby. Well as the days get shorter and the nights longer, we’re definitely noticing the colder evenings and mornings kicking in. However today was one out of the box as summer squeezed in one more day. Although it was a foggy and frosty morning the promise of a the fog lifting to expose a warm cracker day was just what the body needed. Three nights ago 18th April while walking outside to head over to see Sam and Amanda, Jude looks up and spots a lightish glow in the evening sky. It was a unexpected Aurora, the Southern Lights is always a spectacular event especially when the skies allow a clear and grand view.
